Messages from Pastor Leo The New Year is… here! What a perfect time to start fresh. If you haven't been passionate about your life and relationship with God, capitalize on this time of the year to begin again. If you've lost your "get up and go," maybe what is missing is a View from the Top! A look at how God really sees you! We are all prone to falling into a negative view of how God see us! The solution is simple but so overlooked. God wants you to exercise the mind of Christ He’s given you. The Apostle Paul says, “But we have the mind of Christ!” This comes by knowing God’s thoughts and His thoughts are written to you in His Word, The Bible! So how do you find the new passion that is lacking in your life? Here Three Things That Can Help Your Focus! 1. Commitment Remind yourself that without putting God first it will just be another mundane year! D. L. Moody said “Get on fire for Jesus and the world will come to watch you burn!” Goals for life are achieved by being convinced that you need to make a commitment. True believers are easy to spot because they are identified by their commitment. They are involved in God’s work! Are you a true believer in Christ? Are you committed? If not, shift your perspective. Don’t allow yourself to be comfortable with circumstances that do not advance your walk in Christ. Ask yourself; is what you are involved in a weight or a wing to your spiritual growth? This is a time that God desires to work miracles in your life but it starts with a commitment to believe Him.
2. Create Create a game plan to read your Bible. Have a plan to read your Bible one hour everyday this year. Having a plan on how you are going to do this is vital to your success. With a plan, success is yours. Without a plan, you will be working far harder than you have to find the time. Use your plan to encourage and guide you. After all, your plan's underlying goal is for you to have an exceptional year in Jesus. 3. Complete Start small. Are you in one of these two places? 1) You have no idea what should be the next step in your life; or, 2) You do know, but haven't done anything about it yet. Either way it doesn't matter. Now is your time to move forward. Start small. Small steps increase your confidence and lead to completing other small steps. Small steps taken regularly are more effective than larger steps taken inconsistently. Slow and steady wins the race. Start by simple by reading your Bible everyday! I suggest one hour broken up throughout the day. Before you know it things will start to change. 4. Contemplate Look at your goal every day. Looking at your goal regularly makes it gradually a part of who you are. If you create this goal and then put it away, your words will have no value. As the year progresses, you'll soon forget what you can't see. But as you contemplate in knowing God through His Word you will be amazed at what will happen. Look at your goal every day with focus and determination to know God. Looking at your goal, and contemplating it, plays a large role in making it real and bringing great moves of God in your life. So, let's go for it together! That's right! We are going to do this together! May the Lord Jesus Christ Be Magnified! Pastor Leo A. Giovinetti |
